The University of Port Harcourt was established in 1975 as a College of the University of Lagos and gained full autonomous status in 1977. Job Title: Director of Works and Services

Qualifications / Experience
The right candidate for the position must possess:
- A good Honours Degree in Engineering from a recognized University and must be registered with the Council of Engineers of Nigeria (COREN).
- At least fifteen (15) years post qualification cognate experience, most of which preferably, should be in engineering services relevant to a University Works Department.
- Good and practical knowledge of computer applications.
- A verifiable track record of competence, responsiveness, demonstrable integrity and transparency, ability to work in a team, and be able to function with minimum supervision.

Job Title: Director, Procurement
Location: Choba, Port Harcourt – Rivers
Qualifications / Experience
- The right candidate must not be more than 50 years of age.
- Must possess Bachelor’s Degree with Honours or equivalent qualification in any of the following disciplines from a recognized institution: Economics, Business Administration, Accountancy, Law, Insurance, Banking and Finance, Marketing, Quantity Survey, Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Purchasing and Supplies or any related disciplines.
- The candidate who must be computer literate must possess at least eighteen (18) years cognate experience, four (4) of which must have been as Head of Procurement, plus NYSC Discharge / Exemption / Exclusion Certificate.
- He or she must be able to display a good understanding of the Public Procurement Act, 2007 and its extant guidelines in Nigeria
- Prior to assumption of duty by the Director, he/she must attend the following training organized by BPP:
- Three (3) weeks Conversion / Induction Procurement Course; and
- One (1) week Executive Procurement Course at any of the Public Research Centres located at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State, Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Imo State, and University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos State.

Qualifications / Experience
- Evidence of Registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
- Evidence of Registration / Renewal with the Office of the Auditor General of the Federation.
- Evidence of Tax Clearance Certificate for the past three years, i.e 2018, 2019, and 2020.
- Evidence of compliance with the provisions of the Pension Reform Act of 2004.
- Evidence of VAT Registration and past VAT remittance.
- Comprehensive Company profile and organizational structure.

Job Title: Assistant Lecturer

Faculty: Agriculture Department: Agricultural Economics
- Applicants must possess Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Agricultural Economics and Statistics from a recognized institution.
- Applicants must show evidence of registration for a Ph.D. Degree Programme.
Requirements
- Applicants must have published articles in reputable journals.
- Evidence of scholarly publications in reputable outlets will be an added advantage.
- Applicants must possess Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Agricultural Economics and Statistics.
- In addition, applicants must hold a Ph.D. Degree in Agricultural Economics.
Requirements
- Skills in the use of molecular diagnostics tools will be an added advantage
- Applicants must show evidence of current registration for a Ph.D. Degree program.
- Applicants must possess Bachelor’s Degree either in Agriculture or Zoology and a Master’s Degree in Nematology.
- Applicants should have a strong working knowledge of nematode identification tools and be able to handle plant-parasitic nematodes as well as entomopathogenic nematodes.
Requirements
- The Applicant should have at least two publications in plant virology and/or molecule plant pathology.
- Evidence of membership in a related professional association/society will be an added advantage.
- Applicants must possess Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree, and Ph.D. Degree in Plant Virology or Plant Pathology.
- Applicants should have high competence in the use of both traditional and molecular tools for plant disease diagnosis, should also be familiar with new tools in plant pathology, and have basic skills in Bioinformatics.

- Interested Applicants must possess a good First Degree from any recognized University. An academic Master’s Degree in Social Work or MSW plus an academic Master’s Degree in a related discipline is compulsory and must be from a recognized University.

- Applicants must have been registered members of QSRBN with a minimum of three (3) years cognate experience as a Lecturer in a University.

- In addition, applicants must specialize in an area of Language Arts or Communications with experience in supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate research projects and must have published in reputable National and International Journals.
- Active membership of relevant professional bodies is an advantage.
