Job Title: Airport Services Duty Supervisor

Job Purpose

  • We are pleased to announce an incredibly exciting opportunity to join our Airport Operations team in Port Harcourt, Nigeria as Airport Services Duty Supervisor.
  • Supervise and control flight-handling activities such as Flight Editing, Check-in, Transfers, Boarding, etc., in order to ensure a high service standard.
  • Achieve optimum customer satisfaction and on-time departure of flights. Excellent skill to deal with flight delays, disruptions, denied boarding, etc.
  • Deputize Airport Services Duty Officer and/or Airport Representative.

Accountabilities

  • Acts as a Station coordinator in liaison with GHA and QR Department. Works closely with GHA and all airport departments to ensure that on-time Performance targets are met.
  • Ensures the progress towards on-time flight closure and passenger boarding Supervises airport team in achieving on-time performance.
  • Facilitates the Ramp Handling activities in liaison with GHA, Caterers, Fuels, Maintenance, Cargo, and Crew to expedite departure. Works with all departments to ensure on-time performance.
  • Utilization of maximum resources by planning efficient duty allocation for Customer Service Agents. Ensures efficient use of manpower during duty period.
  • Reviews aircraft allocations according to the Movement Signals / Late Arrivals / Loads etc. Ensures all departments are aware of operational messages and requirements.
  • Provides support to Airport Services Duty Officer in case of Flight Disruptions, Misconnections, and Denied Boarding and ensures passengers are provided with all possible facilities.
  • Ensures passengers are provided with full support during any disruption on his shift.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
  • Any other operational tasks/responsibilities as may be assigned by the Airport Services Manager.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
  • 5 years of job-related experience required.
  • Fluent in English both written and spoken.
  • Advanced Customer Relations training such as Passenger services (Altea), Baggage Services (World Tracer), Ground operations (GSM/GOM), Dangerous goods Regulations, weight and balance, Sound knowledge of Amadeus Reservations & Ticketing, including ID/AD tickets (Industrial/Agent Discounted tickets).
  • High computer literacy.

Job Title: Airport Services Manager

About the Role

  • We are recruiting for an Airport Service Manager based in Port Harcourt, Nigeria.
  • The Airport Services Manager has the oversight of both the operations and administrative responsibilities at the station level.
  • The roles ensure that the operations run smoothly and cost-effectively whilst conforming to safety and security requirements.
  • Essential to this role is ensuring that customers are provided with the Qatar Airways 5 Star service promise, thus creating a competitive advantage for Qatar Airways in all ground products and services.

Key responsibilities include the following:

  • Implements Ground Services strategy at the station level and provides insights into customer demands and operational constraints.
  • Maintains station’s NPS within targets and addresses any customer-related issues and/or challenges.
  • Maintains high standards to enhance the customer experience.
  • Evaluate and propose cost-effective measures to reduce unit costs and enhance customer service delivery.
  • Managing the day-to-day operations of the station and acting as a liaison between airport service providers, government agencies & authorities, and QR senior management.
  • Responsible for the Station’s Operations, Safety and Security, Business and Contingency Plans, Emergency and Accidents Response.
  • Ensures that the overall airport operations meet QR’s standards, policies, and procedures and conform to aviation regulatory requirements.
  • Supports the preparation of annual budgets proposals for the station.
  • Manages station performance (KPI and SPI) and station readiness to any audit requirement both internal and external.
  • Supports new station start up when required and conducts GHA Technical assessment.
  • Establishes the department or team’s objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 6 years job-related experience.
  • Able to foster teamwork among team members.
  • Dynamic and adaptable to ever-changing operational requirements.
  • Work experience in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Knowledge of program development, budget preparation, and administration.
  • Relevant experience as an Airport Manager with a major airline.
  • Extensive overall knowledge of all areas of airport operations
  • Very good command of the English language.
  • Able to delegate work, set clear direction, and manage workflow.
  • Strong mentoring and coaching skills.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Relevant experience in an airline or reputed Ground Handling Operations at the supervisory level.
  • Strong background in Airport or GHA Operations.
  • Good understanding of Conditions of Carriage, International Civil Aviation Safety, and Security Procedures in accordance with ICAO and IATA.
  • Overall knowledge of airport functions within passenger and baggage handling, weight and balance, and dangerous goods regulations.
  • Excellent customer focus and service delivery.
  • Right to live and work in the United States.
