Job Title: Assurance Officer

Job Description

  • The Assurance Officer will oversee and advise on the activity of quality assurance, developing, implementing, and maintaining a system of quality and reliability while testing the organization’s products and/or development processes.

Essential Duties / Key Job Roles and Responsibilities

Include but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop, implement, and manage processes to ensure that products/services meet required specifications for quality, function, and reliability prior to delivery.
  • Identify and analyze issues, bugs, defects, and other problems, particularly when problems recur in multiple products; recommend and facilitate solutions to these issues.
  • Review internal and external customers’ feedback.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and policies.
  • Identify and set appropriate quality standards and parameters for products/services.
  • Communicate quality standards and parameters to user departments, products/services development team, and other appropriate staff.
  • Coordinate product/service testing processes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline.
  • MSc/MBA would be an added advantage.

Professional Qualification:

  • Membership of relevant professional associations/institutes is desirable.

Cognate Experience:

  • A minimum of five years’ experience in a related role is required.

Job Title: Data Protection Officer

Job Description

  • The Data Protection Officer is the statutory role required by the Nigeria Data Protection Regulations (NDPR) and the European Union General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
  • The Data Protection Officer (DPO) is responsible for overseeing LBS Privacy Policy and Data Protection Procedures, and in particular, ensuring that LBS meets her regulatory obligations under the NDPR and the GDPR.
  • The role will maintain appropriate privacy policy, data protection procedures, and related audits including, but not limited to data collection, processing, sharing, disclosure, retention, and disposal as well as oversee the maintenance of records required to demonstrate LBS compliance with applicable data protection regulations.
  • The DPO will act as LBS’s primary contact point for Data Subjects and the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), and provide expert advice and support to LBS employees in relation to all data protection-related queries and incidents.

Essential Duties / Key Job Roles and Responsibilities

Include but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide leadership, management, and direction in relation to all areas of data protection.
  • Manage LBS compliance obligations for data protection and advise the School on all matters related to data protection.
  • Be the contact point with and co-operate with data subjects when exercising their individual data rights as well as supervise and advise on the response to such requests.
  • Operate as the primary contact point for the NITDA, lead a data incident response and data breach notification procedure as well as lead the School’s response to any regulatory investigation or request for information.
  • Review data protection clauses in contract terms in conjunction with relevant LBS Legal Support
  • Work closely with management and key stakeholders on privacy matters, advising and ensuring they are regularly updated.
  • Maintain and update data privacy notices.
  • Advice on data protection impact assessments relating to LBS regulatory requirements.
  • Responsible for document management systems within the School.
  • Monitor changes to the law and regulations on all matters relating to data protection ensuring that LBS takes timely action to update and implement changes in policies and procedures.
  • Manage a program of awareness-raising and training to deliver compliance and to foster a data privacy culture within LBS.
  • Oversee the maintenance of records required to demonstrate LBS data protection compliance to regulatory authorities.
  • Any other job to be assigned by the Head, Assurance, and Compliance.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Up to date LBS Personal Data Map
  • Data Subjects’ Requests Register with resolutions.
  • Demonstration of LBS Compliance with NDPR & GDPR at all times.
  • Established LBS Document Management Standard.

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline.
  • A Master’s Degree or other advanced degrees in a related discipline would be added advantage.

Professional Qualification:

  • Membership of relevant professional associations/institutes is desirable.
  • Additional recognized privacy qualifications e.g. Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT), etc. (desirable).

Cognate Experience:

  • Sound understanding of computer systems, databases, and how personal data is collected, stored, and processed with recent experience in privacy & data protection compliance.
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in a related role is required.
  • Experience in a similar role and an understanding of the data protection risks faced by large data-driven organizations with the ability to conduct the role independently and with integrity.
  • Ability to make good judgments regarding data privacy risks and to prioritize resources and activity around managing those risks.

Required Skills:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills capable of dealing with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior management, and exercising strong work ethics.
  • The ability to plan, organize and prioritize tasks, and to provide clear advice and direction even when faced with competing demands and short deadlines.
  • Previous experience in monitoring compliance with regulatory requirements and effectively engaging regulatory bodies.
  • Experience in managing data incidents and breaches.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity risks and other information security standards.
  • Expert knowledge of data protection legislation, in particular the NDPR & GDPR with a Compliance, IT Security, Legal, Audit, and/or Risk Management background.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain a high degree of confidentiality, respect, trust, and credibility at all levels.
  • Strong team player, enthusiastic and positive, with the ability to remain calm, controlled, and resilient.
  • Sound report writing skills.

Job Title: Director, Sustainability

Job Description

  • The Director leads the mission of the Centre and provides strategic and operational direction to drive and advance LBS’ goal of influencing management practice in sustainability, responsible business, and management.
  • The Centre’s activities should be directed in a way that supports high potential professional knowledge which stresses professional ethics, impacts on society, the environment, and service to the community through the practice of management.
  • The Director shall define and execute the delivery of the Centre’s strategy within the context of the School’s Strategic Plan.
  • He/She shall be responsible for the Centre’s intellectual contributions which: (i) support the practice of sustainability management; (ii) contribute to the advancement of the sustainability practices in management disciplines and practice by engaging c-suite executives, senior managers, and sustainability professionals in the public, private and social sectors, and (iii) support LBS research community to create high-quality teaching materials and research outputs.
  • The Centre should be known for advancing corporate sustainability thinking, practice, and delivery in Nigeria and Africa at large.
  • The ideal candidate should be a thought leader and have a passion for sustainable development, corporate sustainability, and research.
  • He/She should also understand the role the Centre plays in the larger Lagos Business School mission, focus, and values.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Lead engagements and forge close working relationships with companies, government, entities, and organizations to oversee the end-to-end design and implementation of projects focused on improving the practice of sustainability in Nigeria and Africa
  • Build a coherent portfolio of impact-focused work with attention to strategic ambition, project quality, risk management, robust evidence generation, and sound budget management.
  • Ensure the financial sustainability of the Centre by leading on the development of new engagements and supporting strategic partnerships in the development of new funding
  • Provide vision and leadership around how technical assistance might be delivered more
  • Ensure Centre programs benefit from high-quality technical expertise and advice obtained through either in-house expertise or consultants or a combination of both, as relevant for the individual programs and
  • Lead initiatives internally and with external partners to deepen understanding of sustainability ecosystem, best practices, and the practicalities of a successful.
  • Oversee all matters relating to administration and day-to-day management of the Centre: projects, stakeholder engagements, partners, grant development and management, staff, finances.
  • Manages Centre staff, including remotely, to ensure quality assured delivery against program objectives as well as the personal and professional development.
  • Work with the team across LBS to ensure that all of Centre projects have contextually relevant and operationally efficient monitoring and evaluation plans that inform best practice internally and externally and to deliver robustly.
  • Identify, call, meet with, and develop excellent relationships with targeted grantors, companies, alumni contacts, professional institutions, government agencies, and multilateral organizations as appropriate to identify opportunities for LBS Sustainability Centre.
  • Develop / Execute comprehensive strategy for conducting market intelligence, product evaluations, and benchmarking of competitors’ offerings.
  • Monitor market environment and current changes and provide management reports and proposals to maintain the Centre’s.
  • Actively solicit RFPs and/or respond to unsolicited RFPs by developing proposals that accurately represent the School’s capabilities and meet the needs of the requesting organizations.
  • Ensure the Center is run based on strong commercial.
  • Keep abreast of the latest global research, news, and trends in education, development, and country/client contexts to inform Centre strategy and programming;
  • Formulate and socialize Centre Research Strategy; implement/execute and socialize findings.
  • Report to the relevant oversight Boards on the health of the program’s portfolio, flagging significant issues, as they arise and as appropriate, for
  • Any other specific or ad-hoc duty to be assigned by the LBS Management Board.

Qualifications 

  • Minimum of Master’s Degree in Management, Business Administration, International Relations, Development Studies, or related fields.
  • A doctorate degree in related fields of study is an added advantage.

Professional Qualification:

  • Not compulsory.

Cognate Experience:

  • Minimum of ten years (10) experience working in a development organization, university, consulting/advisory firm, think-tank, or research institution.
  • Experience in sustainability business development and/or project management in a medium or large size organization.

Required Skills / Abilities:

  • Significant professional experience in international development or consulting, and in education, including experience leading the design and delivery of education programs and
  • Significant experience working in long-term partnerships with stakeholders from various sectors
  • Exceptional written communications and presentation
  • Experience in analyzing and interpreting qualitative and quantitative data and drawing out key themes and policy
  • Familiarity with research and evaluation
