Our client, is principally a logistics service provider, having an extensive customs clearing and freight forwarding experience in Nigeria with a global network, seek to fill the role below

Job Title

Commercial Officer “Contract (full time after 6 months)”

Job Objectives

  • Maintain a healthy and professional relationship with existing customers.
  • Manage key performance indicators in line with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receiving Request For Quotations from clients
  • Sending Request For Quotations to our freight forwarders overseas
  • Sending Request For Quotations to the client’s local agents
  • Analyzing rates received from forwarders and agents and submitting it to management
  • Sending offers to clients and following up on these offers
  • Upon confirmation, initiating the process with forwarders
  • Handing over shipments to logistics and operations team
  • After delivery of shipment: Validation and crosschecking of Final documents and debit notes received from the operations team with accounting figures.
  • Liaising with Operations unit on pending exchange control documents
  • Preparation of invoices and sending to respective clients.
  • Following up with documentation inputs
  • Following up with vendors on pending requests.
  • Adequate compilation, inputting and filing of commercial documents; customer invoices, vendor bills.
  • Other job schedules that may be assigned from time to time
  • Maintain contact with vendors/clients and establish a good relationship with them for the progress of the business.
  • Continuous monitoring of actual company performance and comparing it with the business target.
  • Implement efficient processes to ensure smooth business operations

Qualification and Experience Required:

  • Minimum of BSC degree in any discipline
  • At least 7 years of working experience relevant to this role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Knowledge and Skills

  • Basic knowledge of the logistics terrain
  • Experienced and proficient in Microsoft Office and other business software applications
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Good people management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to multi-task
